Problems with remote

Having problems with the DirectTivo R10 Peanut remote control.

Woke up this morning and was unable to change channels on the sat, go to now playing...however I could adjust the volume and the TV input through the remote. Also, when I press channel up or down, instead of the TiVo box changing the channel it tries to change the channel on the tv itself. The red light on the remote will light up when pressing any button on the remote.

Pressing the buttons on the R10 itself will allow me to do all things I need it to do but it is a real pain.



Any ideas on how to get this functionality back in the peanut remote?

Here's what I have tried:

Making sure the switch is on SAT 300,000 times (slight exaggeration)
2 new sets of batteries (different brands)
Restarting the Tivo multiple times


It seems like the TiVo remote lost the code to function with the TiVo....


Any help much appreciated.

Check for IR interference in the room. Another remote with a stuck button or compact fluorescent lighting can be a cause.

Tried both of those suggestions, there are no CFL's in the house and all other remotes are accounted for and working fine.

I haven't changed or added anything new to the system (speakers, TV, VCR, etc.)

What remote address is shown on the system info screen? Make sure the remote is set to the same address.
