I came here to say that "Crisis"...

...would be a much better show if the kidnappers had just put all those angsty teenagers into induced comas, but before I could get my snark on I saw that it's been cancelled.

I thought it was intended as a long-ish miniseries. I hope it finishes its story.
(Though it's been fairly movie-like and I'll keep watching the aired shows even if it ends on a cliffhanger..)

Good to hear it's cancelled. I've been watching but don't know why. Now I can cancel the SP and know I'm not missing anything. By the time the last episode airs, I'll have forgotten it ever existed.

Watching teenage "angst" OR put another way, teenage narcissism is like watching fingernails on a blackboard.

You're absolutely right...

However, the rest of the series is pretty interesting. From the conspiracy at the center of it, to the rogue CIA guy, to the two agents.

Well, it be good for however long it lasted.

It's been pulled from the schedule so if they do air the rest of the episodes, it won't likely happen until over the summer if at all. The same goes for Believe.

There were only 3 more episodes to go.

While not a good show by any means, it was sort a guilty pleasure for me.

Annoying that I put the time into it just to have it yanked when it's almost done.

Yes it sucks. This happened with a lot of shows for me this season. WHy don't I learn from the past? Next year I will only pick a handful of new shows to watch. No point in even starting to watch a show if it's just going to get cancelled a few episodes later. It's easier just to not watch them at all.

According to ismyshowcancelled.com there are 5 eps left.

Quote:
The action drama premiered in March for a 13-episode run. Eight of those episodes have aired thus far, leaving five remaining. The show's finale is currently scheduled for June 1.
and imdb.com shows that 8 of 12 eps have aired

I just checked the list of cancelled shows and deleted all of the ones that are in my series recordings list. The networks do themselves a disservice by announcing cancellations before they've aired the remaining episodes. Even fewer people will watch them now that they're aware that the stories will never reach a conclusion.

Didn't they actually give a "in X weeks" at the end of the last episode? There are specials the next couple of weeks, seemingly already scheduled..

I sure hope they DO air the unaired eps.

They did. I don't remember how many weeks they said but I remember wondering why the pause.

Now that I think about it, I might have gotten further into Hostages than part way through the first episode if not for the kids, and even Under The Dome might not be quite as painful without them.

TitanTV shows an episode May 25, so hopefully that is the beginning of showing the remaining episodes in sequence.

I don't think it did yesterday, but it does this morning. I don't think guide data went far enough yesterday as noted in another post. I never get two full weeks, more like 10-11 days forward. TitanTV is always 14 days, I use it if I need to plan a little further ahead.

5/25, 6/1 and 6/15 are air dates for eps 9-11 per thefutoncritic.com. Nothing yet for 12 or 13.

EDIT: 12 and 13 are now both scheduled to air on 6/29.

If it's in the guide this morning, that would be from yesterday's guide data. Tivo hasn't started distributing todays guide data yet, it'll be a couple more hours.

Having the kids in the show made it a big mess. They were necessary for the plot, but they should not have been such an integral part. A mastermind criminal would have locked them in isolated cells instead of letting them wander around causing trouble. Plus, it is difficult to get the portrayal of kids done well. It's hard for the writers to come up with something believable and it's hard for the kids to act well enough for the audience to believe. Hostages also suffered from this.

At the end of the episode on 6/15, it was announced the last two episodes will be a 2 hour finale on Saturday 6/21, 8-10 PM EDT. Titan TV already shows this change, the Tivo guide does not. It may or may not be rebroadcast on originally planned date of 6/29. Be sure any season passes (for those of you who haven't bailed) pick it up.

I watched the pilot and then bailed on it for several weeks, only to come back last week because there wasn't anything else on. I don't really feel like I missed anything (although I'm sure I did). Seems like a more efficient way to watch?

You forgot to say "without any issues".

I enjoyed it, sort of in a 24-like-roller-coaster-ride type show.. But I think it became more confusing all along. What exactly is the guy's reason for doing all of this?

Spoiler:

There's the whole serum thing.. So he got them to admit they made the serum.. But what is his end game?

Based on watching last night's episode...

Spoiler:
I think that WAS his end game. He had them burn the books and made it look like he was a hero for saving the president's kid. No one is going to believe he was the mastermind, now.

I guess we will find out if they actually show the final two hours worth of the show.

The whole thing is a huge plot mess that makes little sense. That said, I've watched the whole way through so I might as well finish up. It's mildly entertaining. I wish they showed more of the kids, because I find them a whole lot more interesting than the adults.

I was in step with you until the last sentence.

I really got a kick out of how we were going to launch F-14s* against the Chinese. And the news reports even referred to them correctly as F-14s. How hard would it have been to get some footage of F-18s launching from a carrier?

* All of our F-14s were retired in 2006.
