Under the Dome S02E07 - "Going Home" 08-11-14 - Spoilers -

This show finally got back to being interesting. They seem to have found a pretty easy way out of the Dome, start lining the towns people up! Not so fast, two of the three that have gotten out are showing signs of not being right. If this was a good show I'd wonder how they are going to keep Barbie outside of the dome, but I am guessing he will be back inside it in no time. The passage of time is redicolus once again - 17 days since the dome came down. Are you kidding me? They should easily be into month 3 or 4 by now. At least Big Jim is back to his usual friendly self.

Interesting episode. It seems like they are moving towards a finish.

I am not convinced yet that Zenith is on Earth since it is reached via a wormhole. We shall see, maybe when Barbie makes his journey back to the Dome.

I actually thought this was a pretty interesting episode. Strange for this show. They should have gone here much sooner and the show might have had a chance to be good. Of course it doesn't help that the hot red head and the science teachers are terrible actresses (especially the science teacher, she has only one expression). But at least it could have been interesting trash as opposed to just trash.

So, is this anything like the book or has it branched off like a fork in the road?

At this point it is nothing like the book.

This episode convinced me that this is the worst show ever, and I mean that as a compliment. Big budget, big names attached, bad writing and bad acting. You can't beat that combination if you want a really bad show.

A few minutes into the episode when the kids woke up and Junior pulled a gun to point at Barbie's face, I pulled the plug on this POS show.

Now after reading this thread I am rethinking that decision.

That was the scene that bothered you? I applaud the writers for that one. I was so happy to see a character in a tv show or movie pick up their gun to answer the door when there is danger. Too often characters drop guns or don't pick up a gun when they are on the run and walk around recklessly without a firearm or other weapon even when they are being stalked by killers, murderers, or monsters.

They're driving around in a van with a talking dog, solving mysteries.

This episode had someone outside the dome use this phrase in this manner, to refer to the dome appearing -- but the residents inside the dome keep using it to mean "the time in the future when the dome disappears."

I think the writers of this show need to brainstorm a few alternative dialogue suggestions.

Are you messing with me? I said the same thing a few episodes ago:

Nitpick - why call it "bringing down the dome"? Shouldn't they refer to what they want as removing the dome? The dome "coming down" is what started this mess.

I thought it was the house where that teenage kid Joe lived with his parents and sister before she died, no? Nice little piece of art direction in the background with a poster of one of my favorite bands, old school LA punk rock group Bad Religion on the wall in the scene in the bedroom.

If you recall, Joe's family farmhouse got demolished in the magnetic field incident.

Everyone moved in with Big Jim for a bit but since Jim isn't trustworthy, they don't want to stay there.

They found Joe in this house after he and Nori had the big fight.
I thought that it was implied that it was Angie's place but since it's a house, I find that unlikely.

Maybe they're squatting in a vacant house?

Most likely, but it's strange that Angie's snow globe was in the house.

I blame the magnetic fields from the dome, or something.

That's where I got the impression that it was Angie's place.
But I find it unlikely that she was living in a house by herself.

Did she have her own place before the dome? I guess I thought she lived in Joe's house with their parents.

I had thought that was the case as well.
You see why I'm confused.

I think the dome rebuilt their house and put all of their stuff back in it.

Yes, she had her own place and that's where the kids are staying.

Somebody remind me, has this show been renewed or is this the last season?

I don't think CBS has announced anything one way or the other.

As far as I know, the writers wrote this season as if the show were going to last forever, so don't expect everything (or anything) to be wrapped up.

Two episodes have aired since this one, notice there is no thread or talk about either of them yet. That should tell you a lot about how well it is doing this year.

Or, maybe we're just too lazy to start a new thread.

I hope Dean Norris is getting paid a lot to be on this.

No kidding. Some of us gave up on the show and are depending on just these threads to keep up on the dumb. Y'all are slacking.
