Best current deal on S3?
It seems the best deal going to get my 2nd S3 is from the Tivo Store at $599, anything else out there? Just checking.
I know Tivo.com has a $499 refurb, but I don't think it qualifies for MSD.

What makes you think a refurb doesn't qualify for a multi-service discount?
More than one TiVo in service == multi-service discount.

Package units from Tivo.com do not qualify for MSD. I've read many threads about this. I believe this would fall into that arena.

With the spy pics of the cheap S3, maybe I should wait a couple months to see if prices drop on the current or maybe more news on the new cheaper S3.

I gues I'm a little confused...
So TiVo.com is advertising it at $599 with $200 instant rebate, but it kinda' seems like the rebate is already included. So does this mean that the starting price is actually $799?
Can I just buy it at Costco.com for $599, get lifetime service through TiVo, then get the $200 mail-in rebate?

It's $568.03 from Amazon, or if you have bought anything related to tivo from Amazon before, it might appear in your "goldbox" for even less. I bought the wireless adapter from them recently, and the S3 appears in the goldbox Quick Picks section (when you're logged into your account) at $539.63 today.

That's what I paid at Amazon. Coupled with the $200 rebate, it's a pretty sweet deal!

okay, but if I go with a 3rd party dealer, can I then go to TiVo and buy the $399 lifetime? As I look at the site, it kinda' seems that the MSD's are only bundled with a new unit.
I have 3 S2's, all on the old pricing plan, 12.95/6.95/6.95, so I guess if I can't buy the lifetime, I can just swap it with one of my older boxes.

I bought an S3 at Amazon last week for $549.98. Was able to get the MSD Lifetime on it for $399 through TiVo.com (already have an S2 with Lifetime that qualifies me for MSD).
Going to send in for the $200 rebate tomorrow. Grand total for Lifetime S3 = $748.98. Sweet!

I'd be interested to know if you get the rebate. I asked them upfront if your could get the rebate and the lifetime and the answer I got is "no", the lifetime is an "offer" and the rebate is not available in combination with any "offer".
I'm not totally convinced, but that killed my desire to get another S3. If I could get lifetime and the rebate I'd be very tempted.

I paid $539.99 from Amazon, with free shipping. Add in the $200 mail in rebate and it cost $339.99.
