Traveler 5/30/2007 (S01E02) "The Retreat"
So... Homeland Security is somehow involved?
What's up with Jay avoiding all those questions he was being asked during the polygraph?

So, the guy that was hired by the father is actually working for Homeland Security.
You don't think that the father knew about the plot to kill the boys, do you?

I think he did, he seemed pretty upset about him leaving.

The acting here is pretty campy... They really need to dial down the over-acting.
I know the situation is rather preposterous to begin with, but this show is going to get old fast if the two main characters don't stop acting so stupidly.

I don't think he wanted to admit that he DID blame the government for the death of his father. Because it would implicate him.

Interesting show. A co-fan of LOST here at work recommended I give it a look so I watched eps 1 and 2 last night. I think it will be good summer entertainment!
It's a bit confusing trying to figure out who's aligned with who, or even who all of the "who's" actually are...

He wasn't on the screen long, but wasn't that the Boomtown guy? The one that was also in that show about the CDC?

Yes, it was the Boomtown guy. You must be the other person that watched that show.

Why wouldn't Homeland Security be involved?
I'm not hooked. I'll give it one more episode, but it doesn't look good for this SP.

When Jay opened the phone for the assassin to answer (in the hangar), it sounded like Tyler's dad asking the questions. So, is the dad in on it?
The show needs a little better aim, but could be good. I heard it was a pilot series that didn't get picked up and ABC is just dumping it over the summer. So don't get your hopes up at another season or even a resolution.

Neal McDonough.
So far I'm hooked on this show. I'll stay with it.

I like the show but it dosen't make alot of sence, we realy don't know who is who, the black lady thats chasing them seems to be the only good guy in the whole show, and who was the guy that helped them escape in the first show? Why would he be helping them and everyone else is trying to kill them. Strange writing.

I'm assuming that it was the Boomtown guy.
Rex from DH sure got another job pretty quick...has anyone else noticed a lot of recycling of TV actors? The same people keep showing up on different shows. I never noticed it before. Is it happening more now? My best example is Gina Torres:
Alias - Ana Espinosa
The Shield -Kavanaughs Ex-wife
Standoff - The boss
24 - Milikin's wife
Firefly - I didn't watch this..

Yeah, it's really distracting. They ought to have a union rule or something that an actor can only play one role in his or her career, in order to keep shows pure, without the distraction of remembering actors from other roles.

I have found that after I started watching entire runs of shows (due to me having a Tivo) that I see a lot of repeat actors.

What's funny is to see it in reverse. For example, I never watched ER before. But over the last year, I watched all of it, and it was amazing how many actors that I was familiar with had guest spots on ER prior to their getting a continuing role of their own in another series.

I'm not saying that this is bad as your sarcasm implies...I just think that there are so many actors out there looking for work yet the same people keep getting the roles. Its not like these are really high profile actors or anything.

There's only so many studio execs, and there's only so many people they can have sex with at one time.

Although this thread isn't really about the show anymore I'll just say that I'm liking it so far.
One theory I'm playing around with is that the father knew what was going to happen, but that he's being forced (blackmail?) to go along with it. That would explain the line where he urges the friend to go in the limo by saying that his son needs his friend to take control during tough situations. Perhaps the blackmail goes way back in time and the reason the one guy's dad killed himself was because he refused to go along with the blackmailers.
Of course, I'm probably way off and the father only said that line because he knew that would push some buttons and get the friend in the limo.
