Another Newbie quest: HD-TV playback?

I'm the newbie who posted questions about the Phillips PTV300 (haven't subscribed it yet.) Got lots of good answers. Thanks all!

One of several reasons I probably won't subscribe it even if I decide to go with TIVO is this box is not capable of recording and playing back HDTV.

The question is are some of the newer TIVO boxes HDTV playback capable?
Does that take much more storage (5 fold reduction in recording time capacity or something liike that)?
And about what price point, if they exist, do the HDTV capable boxes start at?

Only the new Series 3 Tivo can handle HD. You can get it for around 600 bucks currently. It has a 250 GB hard drive, and can hold about 30 hours of HD.
