S3 video streaming, is it possible?

I just got my new S3 (on FIOS) installed yesterday and love it. I know that MRV is not possible but can you stream video from a PC to the S3? If not, can you transfer video from a PC to the S3? Thanks!

Transferring from a PC to a TiVo is referred to around here as TiVo Comeback or something like that (opposite of TiVo ToGo). We all hope that is will be enabled soon since it is not strictly controlled by the FCC and is present on the S2s. For the S2s, you just drop the file (in a format listed in the TiVo help pages) into the My TiVo Recordings folder on your PC and it will show up on the TiVo.

I am not aware of any streaming.

So the One True Media service can download movies to your S3. Why can't we do it privately?
Any way to reuse the same mechanism they have?

The mechanism with OTM, as I understand it, is more similar to TiVoCast than TTCB (queued download from an internet source, not user-controlled from a local computer). That's probably why it works with the current situation.

I have to tell you. The more things get dealyed for Tivo3, the more I wish I would have skipped purchasing it. Don't get me wrong, I love Tivo, but all this crippling is just killing me.

I waited, but couldn't any longer. The HD prize was just too much of a draw. Now, I can say that MRV and TCB are the two things that Tivo needs to differentiate themselves from the cable DVRs.

Thumbs down

WTF is with this "one true media" ? It's presented to us as if it's a "good thing"... bah. you have to pay for it!
and we can't host our own home movies on our computer to stream to the tivo (tivo comeback i suppose)... WTF?

and you have to pay for "one true media" as a "service"... my first thought was oh, they've added some peer to peer thing so my grandmother can download direct from my tivo box... but no... it's the old server client mentality, and worse, for pay, totally lame.

this is far from the feature i really wanted.

The Wii has YouTube now. why not Tivo?
XBMC has the streaming divx from my PC...
I need 3 boxes for the basic functionality I want. duh.
