After Clear and Delete Everything, No Channels Under 100

I have an RCA DVR40 that was showing symptoms of possible drive failure. Having gone through a list of suggested steps that did not cure the symptoms (stuttering), I performed a "Clear and Delete Everything."

The process went fine, the DVR booted up and is functioning correctly, EXCEPT I can only get channels 100 and higher. I've looked through all the setup menus and can't find anything that I've set incorrectly.

Any ideas on how to solve? I'm hoping to avoid the dreaded call to DirecTV support.

Thanks from a long-time lurker for everything I've learned from this board.

If they are still not there, call DirecTV on the 800 number and enter extension 721. Tune to one of the channels you don't get and they will send another hit to your receiver. 9 times out of 10, that will solve it.

The Search Function is indeed your friend!

After posting, I found a thread called "How long did it take local channels to show up?" (I can't post the url because I don't have 5 posts yet).

The fourth message in that thread had a link to a page at DirecTV's website that allows you to refresh your services. That did the trick.

Thanks for your quick response, however. Now we'll find out if I need a new drive for the DirecTivo.

just a matter of time before that drive fails again. I'd buy a new drive now, load it and have it ready to swap.
