Did DirecTV start charging you after lifetime transfer?
I was going to transfer my DirecTV lifetime to a new S3. However, I plan on keeping my old DirecTivos for a while because of my contract. Has anybody been charged a monthly fee of $5.99 by D*TV afterwards? Do they not have a way of knowing the LT's been removed?

Are you sure TiVo will accept a transfer from DirecTV for Lifetime?

Not anymore; you had to buy the S3 on or before 1/31/2007. Of course, the offer has been extended before.

I had one bill from DirecTV after my transfer but before my cancellation. It did *not* include the $5.99 and still had "DIRECTV DVR Service Fee Lifetime" on the bill.

Thanks for the info.
By the way to those wondering, I was told by Tivo the D* transfer offer is good thru 3/2.

From what I hear, they don't bother asking when it was purchased. Anyone else receive bill yet after a LT transfer?

When I upgraded my T60 to an HR10-250 they did start charging me the $5.99. After a couple of calls finally got it straightened out. When I moved 6 months ago, same thing happened, $5.99. Only took one call to fix. Then when I changed my programming it came back again. When I called, the *sshole CSR insisted that my equipment was leased (definitely not) and therefore didn't qualify for lifetime. After several minutes trying to explain to this guy what was going on, I was ready to kill him and hung up. Still don't have that fixed. As I understand it, TiVo Special Services can fix this correct? Does anyone have their number?

A Tivo rep confirmed that they won't know or ask when you bought your S3 unless you buy it from them.
