Long-time reader, first-time poster, as they say...
Our old (4.5 years) S2 was on it's last legs so I decided to get a new 80hr S2. Before retiring the old machine, I used TiVo Desktop to transfer all the recorded programs to my PC for safe keeping, intending to copy them back to the new TiVo after it was installed.
All went well with the installation and I began copying the recorded programs back to the new unit. The programs copied back just fine. However, for some reason some of the programs were not grouping properly on the new TiVo unit. Some grouped just fine, but others did not, showing instead as individual programs in "Now Playing", as if I didn't have grouping turned on. So I now have a mix of grouped shows and non-grouped shows in "Now Playing". I tried turning off groups, then turning it back on thinking this might "reset" the groups, but no luck.
It appears that it might somehow be show-specific. For example, all the "American Idol" episodes grouped fine, but the "Pokemon" episodes are listed individually and won't group. (No jokes, please. It's a family machine
).
Any ideas what could be causing this? I did not change the file names of the programs on the PC or anything else that might explain this. Just a straight transfer to the PC and back. I also still have the programs on the PC, so if there is something I need to do to them it is still possible.
This has been very frustrating and a dark spot on an otherwise flawless conversion. Any assistance you folks might have would be greatly appreciated.
