ok so if it has any lifetime sub it would be with TIVO so i would still need to buy the DTV service, also is there any vertion of the DTV TIVO that can use the basic cable as an input? or is all the DTV boxes ONLY DTV?

WOW, i did not even know that ppl could do that, thank you for saveing me a HUGE headach, so im assumeing that any thing simulare to that, (ie you dont have to connect) then it will prety much be the same deal, ilegal box, and i should stay away from it
