so i have few questions.....

is the life sub for tivo or Dtv or both?
also
is this tivo able to use the standard cable signal like the SA tivos, or is it limited to only the DTV input feed?

PHILLIPS DSR6000 DIRECTV TIVO

same questions.....

also i seen ppl selling simular items on ebay, saying ....

Quote:
"It is running 2.52 with XplusZ so it is Privacy Protected, No Phoneline NEEDED to USE. Record functions enabled. With this version, you can also make changes with the remote to the modifications "
is this a legit lifetime patch, or is this person posably trying to sell an elegal box?

Lifetime Subscription Answer.......if You Purchased Lifetime Dvr Subscription With An Existing Tivo If The Tivo Is Replaced Or Replaced To A Directv Plus Dvr It Will Carry Over (must Be Manually Added By Agent And Will Require A Sup To Put It In For Them) Now The Lifetime Subscribtion Can Be Transfered From One Person To The Next But They Must Have Their Account Disconnected And Lifetime Service Must Be Able To Be Verified At That Time They Also Must Verify That The Tivo You Are Activating With Directv Was Associated With The Persons Account And That The Serial Numbers And Rid Match What Was On Their Account Once Done Lifetime Service Can Be Added To The New Subscriber

The DirecTV TiVos are only capable of receiving signals from DirecTV. The DSR6000 with Xplus is a hacked box to bypass the need of a subscription. Totally illegal.

ok so if it has any lifetime sub it would be with TIVO so i would still need to buy the DTV service, also is there any vertion of the DTV TIVO that can use the basic cable as an input? or is all the DTV boxes ONLY DTV?

DTV w/Tivo

ALL DTV receivers that offer TIVO service
do not offer such an entity as LIFETIME SERVICE.

DTV/Tivo units authorises TIVO recording capabilities among your DTV subscription by DTV not TIVO (the company) itself. so any listings that state lifetime service activated on DTV unit is completely false information. You can only pay monthly along with your DTV services. They call it DVR service.

I see a lot of postings with that and it is mind blowing how people cold out try to trick you. Your best bet for a DTV TIVO unit is finding a DVR40 (either RCA / Hughes / Samsung) as these units are all able to accept easy mods to offer some extra fun tivo goodies...(not service....)

Actually, many with directv receivers have lifetime subcriptions on the directv tivo. While no longer offered, there was a time when lifetime subs for directivos could be purchased. Unlike regular tivo lifetime subs, the lifetime subscription for a directv tivo stays with the account, not with the hardware. Accordingly if you buy a directivo box which had a lifetime subscription, the lifetime subscription does not convey with the box.
