Question about a Pioneer DVR-810H-S

I know the Pioneer DVR-810H-S is one of the DVD recording Tivos.
I know (or beleive) it's an 80hour (80GB) machine.

Hopefully someone can verify for me that it is also:

1) A series 2 'family' model?
2) Has USB for using it on a network and 'calling in' over the internet?
3) TTG/MRV/HME enabled?
4) Assuming 3 is yes, can you burn shows that are pulled in from other S2 Tivos?

While I want to move to HD, I found one of these cheap, and the DVD recording seems useful for me - well assuming all the rest is true.

  1. yes
  2. yes
  3. yes
  4. no. At least not unless they are also DVD-recorder models. The DVD recorders record in an dvd complaint mpeg2 resolution, unlike the other tivo models.

Ok. I can live with that as long as I can watch things that are recorded on the 810 on the other series2's? The DVD compliant mpeg2 format is still playable by the other Tivos right?

Yes any show you record can be transferred to another Tivo for Viewing.

No program trasnferred to a DVD-R TiVo can be burnt to DVD, only programs that are recorded on, and still reside on the DVR , can be burnt to DVD.

If your really want to burn a show from the other S2, you can use TTG to get it onto a PC/Mac. From there you can burn it to a DVD (if you have a DVD burner on your computer). You may need to purchase some software though.
