I needed to transfer episodes from a dying S2 TiVo to a new S2 DT TiVo and hooked them up via crossover ethernet cable. (Sorry, I wanted to reference the community post where I received the advice to hook up the TiVos via crossover cable, but it appears I've not yet made enough posts to the comm to add URLs).
Worked great at the beginning and was able to transfer some episodes, but then, inexplicably, the S2 DT lost contact with the S2 in the middle of a transfer and fell off the Now Playing list.
I've tried restarting both TiVos, unplugging the crossover cable and plugging it back in and nothing. Neither DVR will appear in the Now Playing list. Help?
A couple of items of note:
- the S2 TiVo is currently not hooked up to a cable connection - the only connections to the S2 are the power and the crossover ethernet cable.
- I left the TiVo Wireless G adapter plugged into S2 DT TiVo.
I'd really like to get these episodes off so I can send this back to TiVo for a HD replacement before the warranty runs out!
