Just got the complete series Blu-ray for $58.52 on Amazon this morning (Cyber-Monday).

They're airing the entire series currently on Pivot HD, IIRC. The Blu-Ray set looks mostly like DVD material that was up-rezzed for Blu-Ray. The ones I saw were still 4:3 aspect ratio.

Close. It's up-converted from the European PAL broadcast masters (576-line resolution). That's the highest quality source that still exists. The original 35mm sources were destroyed.

If you already have the remastered box set released by A&E Home Video and a good up-converting player, you pretty much have the same thing as the blu-ray set.

European, or Australian? FARSCAPE was produced in Oz, where the PAL system is used...or was, in the days of analog TV.

Bear in mind that the show was shot in 4:3 for the first three seasons. On DVD, they're all OAR; 4:3 for the first three, 16:9 for the fourth.

And yes, every review I saw of the Blu-ray set when it came out recommended not bothering if you already had the Complete Series DVD set.
