How many users - Missing Analog Channels

How many users are suffering from Missing Analog Channels due to bad tuners?

Vote and provide band and type, i.e., SD or HD and frequency band 30-50, etc.

I don't understand the 5th option (Cable Cards in Use). Do only people who use OTA experience missing channels? And what do I select if I'm not missing any?

What about those of us that originally were missing analog channels, but received an exchange S3 that did not have the problem?

There seems to be a perception that cable cards are the cause of the problems with missing SD analog channels. I do not have any cable cards in use and have missing analog channels. Some people with cable cards in use are also missing channels and infer that the cable cards are the problems. The tuner is independent of the cable card processing.

Hopefully, this is a software problem and will sonn be fixed by TIVO?

I don't get the poll either.

I'm using CCs, all my analogs work fine. Though almost like btwyx I have turned many of them off; all the HD dups, then a ton of them are filler crap. I left SciFi, Spike, ummmm, oh Animal planet, a bunch of other, but nothing major.

Many people are having problems with missing analog channels due to a malfunction (SW or HW of the tuners. It appears that one of the tuners is problematic (generally tuner 1 of the 0/1 pair).

Look at the thread Missing Analog Channels for the discussion.

The purpose of the poll is to try and identify if the problems is largely independent of Cable cards, and eventually which tuner is the real culprit. Hopefully TIVO will look at the results and work to resolving this problem soon.

So if you have CCs and you're not missing any channels, then don't vote in this poll, right?

I had CCs in use and had some missing in SD 30-50, plus one or two HDs. Which option should I pick?

As the original poster in one of the "missing analog channels" threads, I have been following this problem with interest. From the variety of experiences mentioned, I suspect that there may be more than one cause of this problem. It has happened with and without cablecards installed. TiVo has apparently said that it's a software problem, yet in my case a new Series 3, with the same software version, solved the problem.

I didn't vote in the poll since I no longer have missing channels. For the record, my missing channels were in the 30-50 range, and I first noticed this after installing cablecards. However, I used the same cards in the exchanged S3, which has (up to now) no missing channels. I sincerely hope that TiVo support is correct, and that this will all go away with the next software update.

oh, I just chose 30 to 50, since they're missing no matter if the CCs are installed or not. (Figured marking CC in use might make it seem it was related somehow...seeing as some people still argue that.)

Technically it's been anywhee from 25-53

Just got the 8.01C software and it looks that all my analogs are fine.

I agree. However, I am keeping an eye on the actual tuner involved by adding the tuner status bar at the bottom of the screen. Use Select-Play-Select-Replay-Select to set this up. Cancel status line by repeating sequence and using any menu to clear the line.
