"Bozo, Gar & Ray: WGN TV Classics" to be rerun

In case you missed it last year:

12/24
10 pm – 12 am
Bozo, Gar & Ray: WGN TV Classics (2005)
A look back at three of WGN's most beloved television series, "Bozo's Circus," "Garfield Goose and Friends" and "Ray Rayner and His Friends." The classic TV trilogy starred Chicago television legends Bob Bell, Frazier Thomas, Ray Rayner, Roy Brown and Ned Locke among others. 1950s holiday favorites "Hardrock, Coco and Joe," "Suzy Snowflake" and "Frosty the Snowman" are also featured. WGN's Dean Richards hosts.

I loved Ray Rayner. He was the best. I loved his umbrella hat. I remember, one time he had the original Flash Gordon actor on the show. Ray was great to grow up with.

Thank you so much for posting this. We grew up in the Chicago area but now live in Orlando. Will want to record this so my granddaughter can see what real children’s TV should was like.

I TiVo'd this last year and watched some of it. Brought back some great memories.

WGN-TV had reported that the response from its showing last year was just tremendous.

Question Is the BJ and Dirty Dragon show featured on that program?

Is the BJ and Dirty Dragon show featured on that program?

That was my favorite show as a kid. Watched it on both WGN and WFLD.

They even showed one of my drawings on the show.

I wish WGN would return to offering family friendly programs like this.

I miss Ray Raynor. Used to watch it all the time with my brothers growing up in Chicago.

Sorry I missed this.

I thoroughly enjoyed this show... although I grew up in SW Michigan, all of our TV shows came from Chicago. It really brought back some good childhood memories

Oh, and Professor Andy is a friend of mine. He was the music director on Bozo's Circus for 14 years. He's now an independant music producer and music director for Oprah

This really was a great show for those of us that grew up with these shows. And I did learn a few things I didn't know such as Roy Brown (Cookie on Bozo) was the man behind the puppets on Garfield Goose.

I also learned that, while I loved watching the Ray Rayner show as a kid, wow, that was some bad television. And yet, I still laughed.

Thumbs up

I watched it last night. Loved seeing the little girl drive Bozo crazy by walking to each bucket including bucket number six, winning everything. Imagine being the kid playing the game at home who won everything that little girl won!

How many buckets did Mr. Ned get to?

Would've liked to see more on the Bozo show @ Chicagofest , since I was there with a big group of kids & teens.
