Since they haven't yet turned on MRV, I believe all you'd be missing out on is remote scheduling (log into tivo.com, enter a show to record, and the next time your S3 calls home it will try to add it. Without ethernet (wired or wireless), your TiVo won't call home every hour for such programming updates.

Tivo uses a lower form of security (WEP) I was using WAP. I was able to change some of my computers but my lap top doesn't support WEP. Does anyone else come accross this problem?

The update just pushed to the S2's added WPA when using Tivo own wireless adapter. I expect to see the same update for the S3 forthcoming.

There's a third option, wired ethernet. That's what I'll be using. No additional adapter required, just plug 'er right in the back.

USB wireless adapter is not the only way to go wireless. The other (better IMO) way to go wireless is using ethernet port of the S3 and a wireless bridge - there are many varieties of those and you can choose from several with WAP. In my case I use Buffalo routers in WDS bridging mode to make a wireless bridge from S3 to my main router. I used that setup for many years previously with my ReplayTVs for streaming video wirelessly between Replays and it works great.

Isn't it WPA, not WAP. And I assume that update was on a S2, not a S3.
