IR Remote codes don't work.

Hi again,

My next problem is the IR remote codes don't work. I've got a Panasonic TV and a Sony AMP, both less than 5 years old so I'd expect them to work OK. I've tried all the codes and also tried adding 1000 to them all... but nothing.

A call to customer services?

To be honest the fact that your kit is less than 5 years old is likely to be the problem. The peanut is not a programmable remote, it only has the codes it came programmed with, and those codes were from about 5-6 years ago.....

If you have cycled through all the codes and go no hits and you only want to use one remote ( who doesn't ) then you will have to buy one of the plethora of programmable remotes and use that instead. Personally I use a Logitech Harmony 885.

Its funny. My remote died on me this weekend. It used to control my tv volume and standby, but now when i press these buttons nothing happens. Tivo controls work fine though. I reprogrammed the peanut with all the codes and still no luck. I even changed the batteries in the remote, but still no joy.

Its a real pain to use two remote controls again !!

You might need to change the codeset that your sony responds to, from AV2 to AV1 codeset. See if your model is in this thread.
