TCStore reminds me alot of Fry's Outpost. One minuted the price is xx.xx then you hit reload and it is xx.xx-5 then hit reload again and it is xx.xx+6.78. Maybe I am exagerating a bit about reloading and having it change that much, but I remember Outpost once had three different prices on a single item in one day.

for sure the prciing seems to change regularly.

David or whoever-
Is that the way you plan it to be- or is this just gettign things dialed in for startup?

Do we need to check back for the price of what we are looking for everyday in hopes of it bottoming out or at some point will things get more stable?

Thanks for the feedback. We had a spike in demand for remote controls at the same time our supplier had a shortage. Rather than removed them entirely from the catalog, we decided to raise prices temporarily to slow sales.

We will lower them again shortly once our stock ramps up, and do a better job of keeping the best deals fabulous all of the time.

Best regards, TiVoCommunity Store

I have never heard of someone rasing prices like that. I would think it may make more sense to backorder such and item and ship when in instead of raising prices. When you raise prices, you are basically telling people to shop elsewhere.

Rather than backordering just put an "temporarily out of stock" sign on the items in question. This lets customers know you will be getting more and what the price will be when they are again available. Raising the price temporarily just makes regular customers angry when they find out the price is now lower. Of course, you could offer a 30-60 price match guarantee like Best Buy and other sellers to protect against this situation.

Yea, I went to the TC store to get a harmony 880 because they were such a good deal before. Then I saw the prices and decided to buy them somewhere else. I think it would be better to just put "Temporarily Out Of Stock" rather than raise the prices. If i had seen temp. out of stock, I would decide to wait a week or whatever to buy it here and support the site. But when I saw the price, it just made me look elsewhere.

The feedback in this thread is clearly on target. We will look at making those changes this week.

Also, we are expecting a healthy stock of remotes shortly, and will cut the prices substantially.

Thanks for your patience.

Store Admin (would address you by name, but not sure what it is),

Thank you for considering the forum members input. I know I did not help with any input, but I am glad to see that other's input was considered and looked into. It is a hard job to start up a store and I think all of you over at the store are doing a great job at it. With the current coupon most items are underpriced of other retail chains and even without most items are competativly priced.

Best of luck with the store and keep at it as I think it will only pay off once you get through the inital "opening" phase.

If I know you guys will have a good price I'll usually wait for you to get it back in stock.

I'm not saying it's the best approach for a company to take re customer relations, but if demand for something is high, why shouldn't they increase the price? That way the product is available to those most willing to pay for it. If someone else has it for less, buy from them.

But increasing the price when they are out of stock is crazy. If I was a shopper and came upon TC Store and saw that they were $30 more than a competitor, I would immediately shop elsewhere. The problem is that the raised price doesn't accurately reflect the actual price they sell the item for. Store Admin basically said that it was done just to signify a out of stock/shortage situation.

You analogy with mine is false...

harmony 1000

Has anyone tried the harmony 1000? I know it is on the cusp of being released.

Also can we use the current 15% code if we have already used it on a Series 3?
