BSG question - I'm still in season #1
...and I've acquired the eps through nefarious means.

Are certain edits and jumps to commercial supposed to be that sudden and jarring, or am I "acquiring through nefarious means" incomplete eps?

Each one seems to clock in at just under 41 minutes.

FTR, I wasn't crazy about the miniseries but I'm enjoying the series itself muchly.

yeah lots of jaring cuts to commercial.
41 minutes is about right after commercials have been cut.
