Lost video synch on HR10-250
I lost the HDMI on my HR10-250 a year or so ago and switched to the component video. Today, the composite lost its synchronization -- what I see on the TV (Panny 52DL52, another sad story, but let that pass for now) is mostly green and composed of tons of horizontal lines, almost like what you'd see in the old days if you lost your horizontal hold.
Any suggestions? I have far too many unwatched shows to want to just give up and get a different unit!
Thanks.

Reason: Change "composite" to "component"

And now it's working again, thanks to the Format button
After I made my previous post, I decided, just for the hell of it, to try cycling through the video formats (I had been at 720p to match my monitor). As soon as I pushed the button, all was well -- not only at 1080i (the next step), but also at 480i, 480p, and 720p.
I also discovered that I'd been updated to 6.3 overnight. Wonder if the two were connected?

composite or component? Component is the red, blue, green and is what you should be using after the HDMI went out.

My component output video synch was also lost when the DVR upgraded to 6.3a. Cycling thru' the resolution outputs to get back to 1080i restored things back to 'health'.

Component, of course. I've changed my original posting -- thanks!

Well since the 6.3a upgrade yesterday, I too noticed some HMDI PQ issues. In fact, when the upgrade installed, I got video stuttering when the setup finished. Did 2 reboots and pulled the power for a few minutes. The only way to stop the stuttering was to change from 1080i to 720p.
I definately think the upgrade has something to do with the video quality via HMDI. Others say no, but I seen less picture brightness/contrast and some yellows has greenish tint.
Why would I get uncontrolled video stuttering after the upgrade unless it affected the HMDI interface? I always thought when I saw stuttering it was hard disk related. Now I believe the HMDI interface loses sync causing the stuttering. Since the upgrade I don't see any new stuttering, but time will tell.

Similar issue but on component video -- I stopped using HDMI when my machine upraded to 3.1f and started receiving the "Temp too High" shutoff message. I never pulled the card but switched to component video. Now periodically the screen flickers goes black and comes back on when the monior re-syncs the signal. This usually happens when a TV program breaks and between advertisements. Just wondering if this problem is likely with the Tivo or with the monitor. If Tivo, would pulling the HDMI card help? Thanks.

Had the same issue with component video after the upgrade. Now my system is doing it again but the trick of switching modes after pulling power and hard reset is not working. 480i mode does work however. I am sure this is software related. This is my fourth HR10-250 but first with video problem. Nice to have a different problem instead of disk thrashing on boot.
