Add service/channels to CableCard = truck roll?

Hey all,

When I had my cablecards installed (adelphia) they forgot to activate some of the channels I subscribe to. I called hoping to have them just zap the cards with subscription info, but they're telling me they need to pre-program these and send out new cards.

That doesn't sound right.. is it?

I had them tell me the same (well except replace cards). I has missing some of my digital tier. By the time they called about having missed their appointment the cards cured themselfs.

All they will do over the phone is verify that the cards are paired. I plan on adding showtime to my lineup. We'll see if they want a truck roll for that.

I'm 99% certain that it's all taken of at the office.

When my second CableCard was installed, it couldn't get the HBO channels. The cable guy spent about a half hour on the phone with someone and got it fixed (without having to remove it).

Absolutely not.

There is NO reason for a truck roll to change programming authorization.

Well, actually, there is. Incompetency being that reason.

No truck roll needed for me (Comcast). They just send a signal to tell the cards what programming I should be receiving. Just need to pray the CSR sends the correct signal. When my cards were installed the CSR didn't send the right signal, so I was missing a bunch of channels. The tech left without fixing it. I called several times and engaged in several support chat sessions before I found a CSR who knew what she was doing.
