Can't Turn Off (go into standby) Tivo when Kidzone Enabled

I have a Toshiba SD-H400 that I cannot turn off when KidZone is enabled. I've done several searches and cannot find anyone else with the same problem. It's kind of a pain to have to exit Kidzone just to turn off the box. Has anyone complained directly to Tivo? I've never had to call them before, but this has gotten rather annoying. Right now I'm assuming this is hardware specific, since I haven't seen anyone else complain. If someone else with a SD-H400 could try this, and let me know, I'd appreciate it.

What do you mean by "turn off Tivo"? Tivo can't be turned off, unless you pull the plug.

If you are talking about going to Standby, that function, along with most functions, are turned off on purpose while in KZ. The whole point of KZ is that it's a place for your kids where they don't have the ability to do anything to your Tivo except watch their shows.

The SD-H400 is one of those units with an actual power button (which does invoke standby, of course.) This doesn't seem like something you'd need to disable in KidZone (after all, the kid would need to understand turning on the TV itself, right?)

I can see not having a "Standby" menu option, but when you've got a button right there on the remote...

Yes, I meant standby. Can you point me to some place at Tivo that documents this "feature"? I see nothing in the FAQ. Is the idea that if you turn it off you might be able to get to shows that are not controlled by Tivo? I knew I couldn't play a DVD (I assume this will be fixed at some point).

I know I can just turn off the TV, but the reason I want standby mode is that I often have the audio going through another speaker (Soundmatters Mainstage) that has no off button -- it just just goes into standby when it isn't receiving anything. So unless Tivo goes off (into standby), it won't go off.

I know there's very little difference between on and standby, but there's something reassuring about the lights going off and the little red light coming on.

That's the idea. Standby is not the same as "off." In standby, the RF input is passed through to the RF output, so that when in standby a kid could watch anything that was currently on TV (if the tivo's RF is being used).
