The S3 doesn't use anything special, so current TiVo CCFs should work. The only button that would need to be added is the Aspect button, as it's not on a normal S2 remote.

I have a URC MX-850 file if anyone is interested. Mostly all learned with a few shortcuts to To-Do, Now Playing, etc.

Dan

isn't it the same as the "window" button?

The only button that's dirrerent S3 vs S2 is the aspect button? I read a thread sonewhere about the Tivo button being different. It's how the S3 figures out which remote you are using (old vs new). If you use the wrong one, one of the buttons acts as "guide" instead of switching tuners (forget which button and I'm not at it right now). So there's apparantly at least 2 buttons different.

Jerry: I'm making a MX850 file but from pristene "programmed" hex codes instead of learning. Once I get the protocol, device id, etc. I can get all button possibilities, then figure out which codes do the "new" stuff. I've had issues with learned codes in le, the past and when reverse engineered they often show a lot of garbage in them. So when possible, I program them from hex/scratch.

Scott

Edit, it's the Live TV button that hiccups if you use the wrong remote:

I just "learned" my buttons for the S3 on my previous tivo ccf file. I had a series 1 tivo so I couldn't use them straight up. My file isn't anything special, basically made from scratch with buttons stolen from other tivo ccf files on remotecentral.com

The aspect button is the same EFC code as the S2's window button. That's what I'm using on my JP-1 remote.

I forgot about that. Although fixing that would be as simple as learning a new TiVo button code, it wouldn't effect the design of the CCF.

Could I have a copy of your JP1 file (export)? I believe I can extract the device id, etc out of that. Have to brush off my Jp1 brain cells but think they are still there
