Well as the title says I've been having problems lately getting the guide download. I only run the phone line to the unit when it gets down to 3 days of guide data. This time every time I tried it would start downloading and then connection problem. I tried for 3 days and the only time it got guide data was during the scheduled call.
1st Question: Previous call I noticed that it seemed to be loading data very slow.
2nd question: Is this a indication along with the guide download problem that the drive could be going?
3rd Question: Based on the previous is there any way to check the drive and maybe lock out bad sectors via the remote?
I'm afraid I may have damaged the drive when I moved the unit while changing the old HT sound system/Av switcher and doing all the rewiring, the remote sensor seems to have gone bad on the old system. Or is Tivo interupting guide downloads if not at the scheduled time? the unit has a Lifetime Sub so it is probably costing them money now.
Should I be thinking about changing the drive in my Tivo? It records and plays back everything fine.
