Stargate SG-1 9/22/06 "The Quest"
The last time I saw this movie, it starred Harrison Ford and Sean Connery.

When Cam was reaching for the rock by the cliff I thought he was going for sand and going to say "I saw this in a movie once."
Even though this series is not at its height, it's a comfortable Friday night friend. I will miss it when it's cancelled.

Is it me, or was it a really bad strategic move to have the last image we see for several months a really crappy effects shot?

chasing the child as the clue was silly...even if they wanted to kill the child, not help him, they would have run after him...
"after you, Muscles"...Vala was fantastic throughout...

And how many of you "called-it" that she lost all of her powers.... that was so freaking obvious....
We (My wife and I), where wrong on one thing though... at the start we figured the old guy was going to be Merlin.... I guess they couldn't have made the episode "that" obvious...
BTW... have I mentioned how much I hate 3 month "To Be Continued"s

How many of you thought that when they were going thru the temporal maze, that one of them should have dragged their heels in order to leave a trail of where they have been,
And when was a Tapwave Zodiac able to detect temporal anomalies?

They could have killed him through the portcullis, only by lifting it, to free the "boy" did they show kindness.

Perhaps they were trying to show SciFi "Look, We can do cheap!" in an attempt to get the show renewed.

When they lost the signal and someone said, "What do we do now," I said to my wife, "Oh I dunno, we're walking through loose DIRT, perhaps retrace our steps."
Then of course they reminded us that the guys were following them. Dragging their heels wouldn't have made a difference.

Hey, Peter! You need to change your user text to "6th Member of SG1!" Vala is the fifth.
Hopefully, with 3 extra months to think, they will uncancel the show.

When they were in the "maze," I thought they should be tossing dirt. Toss it to the left, toss it to the right, and you have walls.

The device that Sam was using (and has in several other episodes) looks remarkable similar to :
P.S. a few people commented on the crappy fire effect which closed this episode, perhaps the producers were skimping on the special effects to prove to SCIFI that they may be able to make the show for less in order to keep the show on air. The last 2 seasons have been particularly high on special effects courtesy of the Ori.

Oh, those darn SGC scientists are amazing at adapting modern consumer electronics. Just a few episodes ago, Sam had a PSP doing some kind of 'sensor'-ing. Now we see them doing the same with a Zodiac. And let's not forget the Dell XPS laptop that was specially configured to interface with an Ori spaceship.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd try to pick something with better battery life than the 3-4 hours you're going to get with modern electronics like those. You never know how long you're going to get stuck in a cave with no power outlet in sight.
You just watch. I predict that the Sangraal will be a cleverly disguised iPod Nano.
On the subject of the actual episode...did anyone else find it very underwhelming? As far as mid-season cliffhangers go, this was pretty tame. Our exciting ending scene was a dragon that they had been playing up so much in the episode that you knew it was coming a mile away. And it didn't even look that big. They didn't show it with perspective to anything else, so it could just be the size of a bat for all we know.

I concede your point, but they really shouldn't write a scene if the only solution they can afford SG-1 to come up with makes them unimaginative morons.
Which, I guess, makes the writers unimaginative morons!

Yeah, I thought of that too ... why Sam was using just a rock I'll never know.

Amazing how they all forgot that the key to the dragon is to know its name and that Baal has the name...so as far as suspense, I guess only if Baal is wrong are they in trouble...

I've got a theory about the nature of the Sangraal. Since it involves some info from a special and not an actual episode I'll spoilerize just in case...
Something tells me that Baal was bluffing about knowing the name anyway...

I saw the Tapwave Zodiac. Guess the upgraded from the Philips Pronto they've used before.
I didn't think about the dragging their feet in the maze, but I'd had another solution for finding the way forward. They could have just fired off their "never empty MP-5s" in an arc. They'd see the bullets stuck in the air where they hit an anomaly, they'd keep going if they didn't hit one.

I was also expecting one of the people in the temporal distortion field to be one of Ba'als men pretending to be in the field into order to block the correct route.

And the dragon came up from the bottomless pit?
After Daniel put his hand through the 'whatever-that-was' jewel? [signal]
I don't think that was the Sangraul (or however you spell it).

Actually, I was wondering how there were people so far up in the maze...you would expect most people to be right at the edge...
