TV show genres you just won't watch, period.
I won't watch doctor shows. I have no interest in them. I tried watching House for a while but finally gave up on it. I've never seen ER or the new favorite Grey's Anatomy.
I also won't watch lawyer shows or crime scene investigation dramas. None of the Survivor clones either.

Nothing animated. I'll never understand adults watching cartoons.

Life must really be sour for you to not be able to enjoy some inane comedy and just plain silly fun...
Me? I despise lawyer shows...

Lawyer shows, CSI and its clones, anything resembling American Idol, medical shows (except Scrubs). I actually used to like ER but it's played out.

Besides "24," I likely won't watch any of the "serial dramas" that copy 24's style. I mean, I don't mind a little serialization, like DS9 did, where each episode builds on what happened in the last; I just don't like series that all tell one continuous story and don't really have seperate episodes per-se.
Heck, even 24 I cooled on this season, and might not watch next season.

Reality shows, children's shows, game shows, soap operas, gossip shows, sports shows, infomercials, pundits yelling at each other, and oh so much more.
And yet somehow I still watch too much TV, on average.

I don't watch animated shows, either. I enjoy comedies, but animated shows just don't entertain me.

I've seen some of South Park and just don't like it. Some of the humor is funny, but I just can't get over the fact that it's a cartoon.

I thought I was the only person on the planet that did not watch "cop shows". Basically anything involving crime. It's amazing how much time that opens up on the schedule when you weed out the cop shows.
I also dont watch medical shows, except for Scrubs and night-time soaps.

1)Lawyer shows
2)Cop shows or anything close to that genre
3)Medical shows of any kind
The sad thing is my wife love all these genres and fills up our many DVR's with first run and re-runs of them
Edit to add: How could I have forgotten.......................... Reality shows.

And a terribly drawn one at that. Drawn probably isn't the right word since it isn't even drawn. Is it?

I don't watch cop shows as a general rule (although I've been known to make the occasional exception).
Basically any show that starts with the premise of "an elite team of law enforcement agents who solve tough crimes" and I lose interest. Which seems to be the majority of CBS shows, which is why I don't watch much CBS.

Reality shows.
Almost anything on the (dead) WB. Now that it's CW, I can't really say that since VM will be on there.
Win A Million Dollars shows.

Gotta say, I can't think of a single TV show genre that I won't watch, except for sports-related shows. I'll pretty much give anything a chance.

It's "drawn" on computers. The "crude" animation is one of the elements that makes South Park what it is.

Reality Shows (used to watch some of the build oriented ones; Monster Garage, Junkyard Wars but not recently)
Children's Shows (don't watch, except for Kim Possible)
Game Shows (don't watch except for the occasional bit of Jeopardy)
Sports Shows (did battlebots count as a sports show?)
TV News (except occasionally the weather report)

wow you pretty much summed all mine up.
Don't like doctor shows (except scrubs), any Law and Order or CSI, or any reality game show.

I won't rule out a show based on its genre - that's just closed-mindedness. If a show is well-written and well-acted, I could care less what its setting is. That being said, I don't much like all the "reality" TV out there, but I've watched Survivor since Season 2. I also don't watch much news or pseudo-news, nor do I watch the newsmagazine-type shows or pundit shows. I have no objection to them, they just harsh my vibe.

Not big on Western shows - or History shows ... My husband would have the TV on the History channel all the time - if he could! NO THANKS!

It may be on computers by now but I read somewhere that when they first started it was all made with crudely cut construction paper.

Are people really replying to this with "I won't watch any show of X genre, except for the one I do watch" ?
