Slightly OT- Anyone left out with the CW merger?
Still hearing horror stories from fans of SMALLVILLE all over the country being left with no CW affiliate, even tho' they'd had the WB where they were. (Some of the situations even came up at the last minute, where a station that'd been in line to run the CW for some reason won't be.)
Anyone here who had either UPN or The WB now left out in the cold with no access to The CW?

I lucked out and we have the stupid CW here. Actually, I don't know if that's lucky or not.... The CW has to have the most insanely huge obnoxious channel logo I've ever seen. It literally takes up almost a third of the screen. I told my wife that I may just not even watch Smallville or Supernatural on CW because of it. I might just get it from torrents instead. I know the picture quality would be much better anyway.

"Literally." I don't think that word means what you think it means.

We had no UPN here and WB was cable-only. Looks like CW is cable-only, too. We can't get cable where we live.

If the bug is on the broadcast, it's going to be on the torrents as well.
We have both CW and MyNet here. They simply took over the WB and UPN stations, respectively. Both are available OTA and on cable. Not sure about satellite.

There are some bug-removal filters for various video encoders, although they tend not to work that well.

I'm very pleased with the situation here.
UPN always came in crappy, never went digital let alone High Definition.
WB also came in crappy (analog), but had a digital channel and High Definition, which come in great,
but alas, I didn't get my HDTV and HD TiVo till after last season was almost over.
The WB station got the CW nod,
the UPN station didn't, so they dropped UPN like a rock,
no UPN station here all summer, no Veronica reruns here either.
Now I can see Veronic Mars, Supernatural and Smallville in wonderful High Defintion.
Sorry for rubbing it in.

Woops. Did you ever say something without thinking. Yea, the logo will still be there even if I download it. I was thinking I'd download it mostly though because the PQ of our local CW is SOOO bad. That logo is really annoying though.

In recent years, I never had a UPN or WB affiliate availabe on my satellite package (In Canada the stations that are affiliates of those networks are considered superstations, and sold only with a premium movie package, which I don't sub to).
Extendong to now, I habe no CW affiliate available to me either.
Before 2002 or so, I and both WB and UPN network feeds on C-band, and really sucked up the UPN feed (Shasta McNasty anybody?).
All that said, some of the better CW programming is licensed to Canadian stations.
Smallville in particular, is on CityTV, alhough I don't watch the show.

This area is another WB->CW and UPN->MyNet area. The only downside is that neither are available in HD via Time Warner thanks to Sinclair; I have to use my OTA receiver and antenna to pick them up.

My Network Only
In beautiful Del Rio, TX we never received the Paramount Network over Time Warner Cable. We did get the WB from San Antonio. Unfortunately, the San Antonio Paramount station became CW and we're stuck with MyNetwork! (What do you expect from a cable operator that promised network HD stations in March, still shows them as available on their website and advertisements, Tribune shows the listings, but still no HD stations and no forecast!)
