Missing Chanels (signal issue?)

We have a Series 2 and Comcast Digital cable box. I have checked all the wires and we are connected as Tivo suggested. When we watch live tv through tivo (and or try to record) tivo reports poor signal on some channels (primarly channels in the 50s). These channels work fine if we watch off channel 4 through the TV. These channels can't be watched on either of the Tivo tuners, but all lower (network) channels and the premium channels (HBO, etc) work fine through Tivo).

I got a message to do video setup for the basic channels. I have tried and I do see video and tell Tivo that...when it gets to the second test it locks up and reports the test is incomplete. If I attempt to change to say channel 50 (CNN) I get the Tivo memo showing what is playing on that channel, but black screen of death otherwise.

Any ideas would be welcome.
