cablecard- can you order PPV by phone?

I understand with cablecard I can't have two-way communication with the cable company. But we're used to ording PPV stuff by phone anyway (our box never seemed to get it right). I assume this method would still work with a cablecard. Anyone know for sure?

FWIW, when my Verizon FIOS was installed (not TV yet since the franchise agreement with the town isn't done), the technician said that with a cablecard 1.0 device I would have to call by phone to order PPV shows instead of doing it via the device/box.

I would guess you order the event by phone and then tune to the channel it tells you to, and the cable/phone company sends a signal that lets the cablecard decrypt that channel for the duration of that one show.

I know the satellite companies let you do it over the web, so I am hoping for the same from Time Warner.

If it's normal PPV with a set channel and time then you should be able to order it by phone no problem. If it's onDemand PPV then you wont be able to do it at all.
