doing so because a) they're ignorant or b) they're attempting to keep people from using cable cards? If it's a) than it's absolutely crazy. They said they can't let their techs roll with more than 1 cable card because they're so expensive. ?! How can it be more expensive than a TW DVR?! It's just a PCMCIA decoder card. Basically a chip inside of a card. That's just ignorant. I also don't understand why they won't let you pick them up but that's a whole new story. If cable companies actually ran their business' like a business' instead of like a scared monopoly I think they would actually make money in the end. Crazy, crazy people.

It is not that the cards are expensive, it is that the techs get paid more for "multiple installs". Just had an Adelphia tech (sub-contractor) install my this afternoon and told me that he gets paid double for doing 2 installs, even though it doesn't take double the amount of time for the install.

Yeah, TWC is sure trying hard to make like difficult for anyone who doesn't use their cable box.

Actually... they're doing a good job making it difficult for all of their customers with forced truck rolls and tying up the customer service lines. Every CC truck roll is a truck roll that's not going out to fix a legitimate problem.

They get paid double if they roll a truck twice or if they bring you two cards? I could barely get one card and am not sure I'll get the second one anytime soon.
