I'm happy that they actually voted off the guy that deserved to go. Though, it was pretty obvious that he was that bad.. and he's not popular enough to be saved.

Yes, I fully expect Jerry to go far given his popularity, and not his dancing.

I do appreciate that
I honestly expect a little more interest, but -- hey, I've seen other shows ignored and then when a thread gets started, all of the sudden people pile in so I thought I would at least encourage the closet DwtS fans to post!!!

I honestly expect Jerry to improve. Unlike a lot of the bad people to leave early, Jerry was trying. He may not have the innate ability, but he was really making some effort out there. He'll also likely be better in the smooth dance (Quickstep) next week than he was with the Latin, so he might hang on on his own merits for a little time.

I was surprised at how bad Harry Hamlin was. Plus he didn't come across too well when they talked to him either. I did think that the blonde girl in the final 2 with Jerry was too good to come in that low.

Tucker showed up on The Tonight Show tonight and they did a 'roll the tape' gag where
Also liked Leno's joke "That wasn't Dancing with the Stars, that was Lap Dancing with the Stars!"

Ugh, result shows are soooo long and drawn out. I just don't get why they bother bringing in singers to these dancing shows. Thank goodness for Tivo, so I won't complain about it anymore since I have the ability to ff through most of it. ;0)
That said, I was very surprised to see Willa or Shanna at the bottom of the heap. Ok, I admit it, I didn't have a clue who either of them were before the show, but I would think that they would have some fans to call in.
I really hope that the order of the results was NOT the order of top votes to bottom...if that was the case then scores got really skewed by the viewers calls.
I wasn't at all surprised by Tucker leaving, other than that I learned last season that you never know what the fans are going to want to keep on (Master P?!). Tucker was entertaining in a way that I wouldn't have been shocked to see him stay a little longer.

Tom Jones still sounds pretty amazing.
I agree that the right person went home. Unfortunately I think Harry should be next unless he loosens up... a lot. He looked really bad out there.

I agree.... but I don't think I would have recognized him if I saw him walking down the street. He didn't look so good..........

Ok, I don't have anything to say about the dancers, but did anyone else on DTV watching on a 4:3 screen notice that all the screen text was off the edges of the screen both on the right and the left?
It was like I was watching a widescreen show zoomed in to fill my 4:3 screen and stuff bled off the edges.

I enjoy DwtS, but I haven't watched the first week Results show yet. I felt ok reading this thread because I figured who was going home, and didn't really care who it was (given who the worst dancers were).
I've always thought that counting the audience score as 50% of the total was was too high. It should be 25% or less, maybe just used as a tiebreaker. Audience voting is a popularity contest that isn't based on talent or accomplishment (ie, it's crap).

Yes, I noticed the problem with the text to graphics being too far over for 4:3 NTSC.
