Series 3 this week

I don't know how reliable it is but I am on an email list for a web site for info on the Series 3 (this is not the Tivo site). I received an email today saying the Series 3 would be released this week and an "official announcement" would be made this week.

The web site was tivoLove.com.

What makes you think that they have any special knowledge of TiVo releases?

No offense, but that site seems a little shady! "We're TiVo lovers who get the inside scoop" -- from where? From who?

And what's with the voice over? The both kept over announciating and Popping their P's!

I visited Tivo Love the other day and I was rather suspicious of a one page website which just wants my personal information and e-mail. I really wonder what their angle is or what their real intent is. Needless to say I did not sign up to be notified.

Why sign up there when you can sign up for the actual information straight from the horses mouth on TiVo.com.

I've signed up for a lot of those product announcement lists in the past, and I don't think I've ever received a message before the product was already widely publicized elsewhere. It just doesn't seem to be a priority of companies to send out those announcements.

I made one up for their site. I do that for all sites.

Having my own domain(s) is nice that way.
