Replacement access cards timed out?

I just ordered 2 new access cards from D** and I tried to activate them today. They then told me that replacement cards sent out have to be activated in 9 days or they "time out'' and can't be activated. I just found the cards today in my piled up mail. Is there any truth to this?..because I think it is a load of crap. They said I have to purchase 2 more new ones now. I'm pretty sure they can do almost whatever they want with the cards, and activate them at any time. If not, how do new cards that come in the receivers from stores not time out? And if this is the truth, why would you do that on a card you send out to your customer? Any inputs guys??

Technically, they can do what they wish. However, a policy was recently put in place. I doubt that you will be able to get around the new policy.

Didn't someone warn you about the 9 day rule when they shipped the cards?

I would talk to a supervisor and see if they can waive the fee for the second batch of cards. New policies are hard to fight. In a few months things could be different. No one wants to be the first to break the new policy.

I don't think that it is just a matter of policy. I think that the cards that they mail out to you are blacklisted if they are not activated within a predetermined amount of time. I don't think that they could activate them even if they wanted to.

Obviously they do not do the same for cards that come in new receivers.

Well when I ordered them, they didn't tell me about the 9 day rule. When I used to have an HU card and they did the swapout for the P4, I didn't swapout my card for like 6 months after I got it and it still worked, so I figured it was the same deal. I know even if they do blacklist the cards, they can take them back off the list. That is why they want the cards back.

They wouldn't wave the fee on the 2nd batch. I tried telling them I didn't want to pay another 40 for the second set, but then they said there would be an envelope enclosed with the 2nd batch, and to just send back the 1st set and I would be credited for it.
