From what I understand, your TiVo needs to have been previously hacked before you can recover accidently deleted programs.

Use the Zipper program to hack your Tivo and install TivoWebPlus. You can connect to the Tivo using a web browser and recover deleted shows using the TWP user interface.

Isn't Zipper only for DirecTivo's?

And doesn't TiVo on its own now have a "recently deleted" feature?

Got the impression the OP had a cable from a prior post.
Maybe his software hasn't updated to 7.3 yet?

We've had recently deleted folder for a while now - before 7.3.

When the TiVo needs to record a program, it looks for space in the following order:
1) Space not currently occupied by a program
2) Space used by programs in the recently deleted list
3) Programs that are expired (have the yellow circle with the exclamation point)
If the program is not in the recently deleted list, it has probably been written over with a new program.
Based on the above, there is very little reason to manually delete any programs from the recently deleted list.
