TiVo / Digital Cable

Will a TiVo series 2 work with a digital cable box. My cable provider (Time Warner) has a serial out, however it is round not rectangle as is the adapter that came with the TiVo. Any sugestions on where to purchase a round serial cable to connect to the TiVo?

Unless they changed, you can forget the serial out on TWC box. It's not implemented. You still need to use the infrared thingies that come with Tivo.

i don't believe that a 'serial out' port will work as the signal transmitted through the tivo serial cable is from the tivo to the set top box (serial in).

try using the ir blaster provided with your tivo.
