Question Update changed all channels - no longer syn with cable company

Both of my TiVo's have updated the channels and are no longer in sync with the local cable company. Some are missing, but most are now on different channels. The guide is, of course worthless.

Do they know something about my cable company that I don't know? Or is it a goof? I would like to have my correct channels back!

Try re-running Guided Setup. it is possible your old line-up is no longer valid which does happen on occassion.

You will not lose anything while running this but be aware it does take about 30 minutes to complete and nothing can record until it is done.

I've tried that and went so far as going into the Channel Listing then hit TiVo button to go online with TiVo. Then went and tried to find the proper list. Every list was bad with channels 2 and three were some kind of special use like "LRG001" where it should be "TBS" and "NWCN". I also found that while I was doing this, if you accidently press "ACCEPT" when you meant it was still bad, you can't back up!!! I ended up pulling the plug on it and resuming. Basically the system told me that it couldn't find the proper list. They correctly identified my cable company ("Charter") and my cable box. This has been up running for over two years, then I get a message that says they channels have been updated, to find that ALL of the channels were updated and incorrect (mostly). So basically the box is of no use, since the times and channels are incorrect. The stuff recorded yesterday was all on the wrong channels.

The next step in their guide was "Notify TiVo" which I did and it said it would take 3 to 5 days!
