Green Arrow to appear in 7 episode arc on Smallville
According to the July 24th, 2006 TV Guide, the Green Arrow will be in 7 episodes of Smallville. He will start to form the nascent JLA and is trying to find members.
He will be played by Justin Hartley who was to play Aquaman in the never picked up Aquaman series.
Jimmy Olsen will also be a recurring guest star playing Chloe's boyfriend.

This was on Wikipedia:
Quote:
In the pilot of the television series Smallville, a headline is visible on a newspaper stating "QUEEN INDUSTRIES CEO MISSING," an obvious reference to Green Arrow. Lionel Luthor is shown reading this paper in a helicopter with his son Lex Luthor during the sequence, just before Smallville's 1989 meteor shower.
Additionally, it has been revealed in TV Guide magazine that the Green Arrow will come to Smallville in Season Six which beings September 28, 2006. His story arc will last "at least seven episodes" says Alfred Gough, co-creator of Smallville. It will apparently involve him forming a Justice League of sorts. He will be played by Justin Hartley.

Cool. I must alert all my archery friends. When I was a kid reading comics I didn't really like the non-super super heros but as an adult, I prefer them. Anyone with a decent physic and lots and lots of training could learn to do what Green Arrow or Batman does.

So this is going to be an adult Green Arrow, trying to convince teenage Superman, Flash, and Aquaman to join up?
And Jimmy Olsen hooking up again with Chloe?
Great. Now I *have* to watch this season.

Double WooHoo! I have to go find a pic of Justin Hartley. I have had a crush on Green Arrow forever!!! Blonde, goatee, muscles...and arrows that fly straight and true! We will have our tivo set for Smallville this season! (said, even though we have had it set for the last 6 seasons before this)

Hmm, never heard of Green Arrow. I'm not sure I've ever read a single comic book. However, I've seen every ep of Smallville so it looks like I'll be learning more about Green Arrow this fall.

Something I read a while back suggested they'd be retconning out the previous Chloe/Olson incident and starting from scratch with them. After all, she's been with the Planet all of last season. If they had already met, wouldn't they run into eachother again?

This is fantastic news.
I've been getting the distinct impression that, overall, this series has been improving remarkably over these past seasons.
I really hope that continues.
(I was deathly afraid it was going to get silly when I first heard of the MYXLPTLK episode. It was a pleasant surprise to find out it was a very well done story. Er, ah, at least IMO.)
Can't wait to see how this GA arc goes.
(By the way, that fanzig pic was a real hoot.)

So is this going to be the bearded, flaming liberal, Green Arrow or the bored playboy Green Arrow with a trick arrow for every occasion?

I worked on JLA as an assistant editor. The effects were horrible, the costumes were worse.

I didn't know they even acknowledge other superheros on this show. And does Superman have his costume yet?
I've seen exactly one episode of this show. Maybe I should go back and watch the entire series... I love superhero movies and comics, but this just seemed too WB for me...

From what the creators say you'll never see the custom. I also think that has something to do with the the Super Boy lawsuit as well.

Interesting that you think the quality has improved. I think the general consensus of most fans, definitely those on this boad, are that it has progressively gone downhill since the first couple of seasons.

Devdogaz:
Hey, what do I know? To each their own, I suppose.
I like the show. Granted there are times for some episodes I notice things could have been better.
If I wanted to, I could critique it and most likely come up with the same issues and problems with it.
But I like it, watch it, and can't wait for the next show to air.

I also have this love/hate relationship with smallville..
It is a bit WB sometimes but every once in a while they pull out an awesome episode.
I enjoy the Mythos so much at this point I feel vested, and watch no matter what
I would say about 1/3 of the episodes are really good and worth watching. I have high expectation's with the move to Metropolis they can introduce some really cool storylines.
Maybe Lana will go away

I think "Justin Hartley" is the same actor who played AQUAMAN in the pilot for that show...
You know, the one the WB greenlit and the CW then said "No" to after the WB's merger with UPN was announced?
Anyway, not exactly an "adult" compared to Clark.
I'm wondering if it'll be the son of the guy that went missing back in '89, if they mention it at all.

"No tights, no flights" was the rule from the start.
They've said if we see the costume, it'll possibly be in the last few moments of the final episode, whenever that is.
Has nothing to do with Superboy, tho' some judge foolishly said recently that the show "may" violate ownership rights where "Superboy" is concerned.
I say "foolishly" because the first Superman story in ACTION COMICS number 1 said young Clark had his powers as a kid, and DC actually DOES own Superman.
SMALLVILLE is based on the character and stories that DC does own.
No kid in a costume or any description of young Clark as "Superboy".
