DirectV Tivo hookup help

Here is a problem that I have been having.. I have a multi switch from the satellite in the garage and then everything is set out to each of the receivers.. My DirecTv receiver in the living room needs to lines in (it has tivo and I want to watch and record 2 different channels). To run another line to the TV would be very hard. I went to the electronics store and they told me I could put another multi switch right before the receiver and this would fix the problem and it did. but after I installed it. it seems to be searching for the satellite signal more often.. On the signal strength, both tuners get about 94%... any thoughts or any ideas on how I could make it work better?

Both of my Multiswitches are non powered..

thanks... Keith

Sorry to say this but you have to have 2 lines to the multiswith for the standard round dish or 4 to the multiswitch on the 3 lnb or 5lnb dish for the multiswitch to work properly.

Your first problem was listening to the moron that suggested a second multi-switch. You have 2 options - 1. Run another cable from your switch. If your switch is full, add another AT THE SAME LOCATION. We can help with that. 2. Stackers. EXPENSIVE. Depending on your dish, it will cost you between $300 and $500 just for the equipment. Option 1 doesn't look so bad now does it?

If you want to learn why your current setup is not working, check at the 3rd sticky at the top of this forum.
