Showtime's "Huff" cancelled

Perhaps this has been mentioned before but in case there are some "Huff" fans out there "not in the know" Showtime has decided (according to E!) to pull the plug due to low ratings. I think somebody at Showtime delights in cancelling the few shows I actually enjoy. First Dead Like Me, and now Huff...HBO, here I come again.

I suspect that the only reason there was a second season of HUFF is that was agreed to up front. It never was anything approching a hit.

That is too bad... That being said I only saw 4 or 5 of the episodes. It is one of those shows I really enjoyed watching, but I could just never find time to watch it.. so I just kind of pushed it further and further aside.

Could you start watching some of the reality TV series out there, pretty please?

Change "some" to "all".

I'm disappointed but not surprised. I love Huff but I really had to be in the right mental state to watch. It was almost always depressing with great acting which made it even more effective.

RIP Huff

I'm not trying to be a thread crapper, but I really tried to like this show and could not...it was like a really bad soap opera...

I love the pay-channel series. I've noted that, at least recently, they've actually very good at shutting series down at pretty-close to the right time. Huff wasn't worthy of a third season. No loss, IMHO, and it leaves room on the schedule for another series.

Showtime makes a habit of this. They take a good series, try to slay the HBO dragon by putting it on Sunday nights and then cancelling it.

We got 2 seasons of Jeremiah, Dead Like Me and Huff - they initially didn't even bother finishing the 1st season of Odyssey 5.

They simply don't give their shows a chance to gain an audience. You want to be like HBO? Well, for starters, there are SIX OTHER NIGHTS IN THE WEEK. Back in the 80s, NBC *owned* Thursday nights. Well, in the pay cable world, HBO *owns* Sunday nights. Oh - and by the way - you might try putting your new shows on when HBO is on 18-month gaps between seasons instead of waiting to slug it out with the Heavyweight Champion Sopranos.

It's like they get theri scheduling cues from the people at FOX who were in charge of "Firefly".

I enjoyed Huff and just finished season 2. Glad it wasnt written with any huge cliffhanger. Definitely stuff that they could have wrapped up. It's nice when they give the writers a chance to at least try and end things. HBO and FX have the best series on tv anymore imo.

We had gotten into watching this, but honestly, I wont' really miss it once it's gone. Nice Summer replacement series but it can't hang with alot of the shows that are one even Network time sadly. RIP Huff.

It's not worth signing a petition or starting an email campaign over.

Dead Like Me, on the other hand, was.

There will be more series worth watching from Showtime, they seem to come up with some pretty good ones,
Weeds should be back soon.

I enjoyed Olivar Platt and Blythe Danner's acting, but never could get into anybody else on the show. Also, as others mentioned, it was a pretty depressing show.

Yeah, Dead Like Me was pretty good, worth much more concern than Huff. However, I do recognize that it was a genre show, and therefore had limited appeal to start with. (Beyond that, getting rid of it freed Patakin up for Criminal Minds.)

I miss Showtime's "Queer As Folk" Sunday nights at 10.

Nothing's been able to compete with that, at least for me. I can take or leave Showtime's offerings since then.

Weeds? Meh.

I liked "Huff" a lot -- didn't find it depressing at all, just a very interesting bunch of characters. Sad to see it go...

I was bummed that it went. I was hot for the girl. Now that I see your post I am less upset. I never thought about who would do Criminal Minds with DeadLikeMe going on.

Now I get to cancel Showtime. I kept it for QAF, L Word, and Huff.

Wasn't Huff the replacement for DLM? Seems Showtime could have been better served by Seasons 3 & 4 of DLM than seasons 1 & 2 of Huff.

I think if SHO had any branes they would have kept DLM _and_ HUFF.

HBO hands them their hat. They don't seem to get it.

Let's hope they don't cancel Weeds after the second season.
