Lost = Dark Tower?
I am now at the start of the third book, and all through the second book and much of this, it occurred to me that Lost seems to be Dark Towerish at times.
Perhaps that is why some people thought the Bad Twin was written by King. I don't know.
Anyhow, I doubt there are clues in the Dark Tower series, at least so far.
Thoughts from those who may have read the whole series (without giving away any untagged spoilers).

I've read the entire Dark Tower series and have seen all of the "Lost" episodes, but I did not make that association. But I enjoyed/am enjoying both series immensely!

I'm digging Lost, and I really liked reading through the Dark Tower books.
That said, other than general genre similarities, I haven't seen anything other than random coincidences between the two series. Personally I think trying to pin down Lost to any one piece of fiction (a lot of people were trying to equate it to Lord of the Flies a while ago) requires oversimplifying it way too much. It may pull bits and pieces from a lot of works, but when it comes down to it, Lost is it's own thing, whatever that may be.
Aye, say thankya!

King ruined a perfectly good book series...

I'm assuming the similarity you saw was between Eddie Dean and Charlie? When I first watched Lost, I did feel that Charlie's character was inspired either consciously, or subconciously, by the events of The Drawing of the Three. (With a dash of Larry Underwood from the Stand thrown in).
I can't think of any other similarities though.

Loved both works, but don't see any connections. Which is surprising, really, because apparently DT has connections to just about everything.

I am a big fan of both, and don't really see any similarities, especially knowing how the DT finishes up.
And, Fleegle, I actually think King handled that very well, better than any other author using the same device. True, he shouldn't have done it, but I think he could've done worse. Knowing his motivation for finishing the series, I think it makes sense why he did it. (There shouldn't be any spoilers there - I was careful writing that).

Loved the Dark Tower series and all the interconnectivity to other works and the more modern stories that touch on the DT universe that King did. Being a big fan of King, I fail to see a solid connection to Lost....yet....depending on what exactly is going on in that snow globe of an island. I think we'll be able to draw allusions after the writers get themselves out of the corner they've written themselves into.
And I guess I'm in the minority in thinking that latter parts of the DT series shouldn't have been done the way they were...I liked it a lot...even the linkage to Kingdom Hospital...can't get enough.
Will anyone ever have the balls to try to bring this thing to the screen and do it justice? So many of King's and Koontz's works have been mauled into pulp...maybe Peter Jackson?
I want to see that train in action!

If I am as dissapointed in the 'revelation' of Lost as I was with the last 2 books of the DT series..
There will be NO PEACE.

I really want to see DT brought to the big screen, with the right producers, director(s), and actors. There's so much wonderful story to show, even after you cut the dead ended storylines and less visual-friendly stuff. But it would be so easy to screw up.
After reading the whole series again, (including both versions of Gunslinger) I think the latter books could have been condensed into fewer or shorter tomes, but the story taken as a whole still is an amazing piece of work.
