Does Anybody Remember When The HR10 Was Hard To Find?
i'm having a "debate" with someone else on another forum and i need some help, please.
unless i'm losing my mind, which has been rumored  , wasn't the HR10 hard to find not so long ago?
i remember places being sold out and people asking where to find one.
i appreciate the help.

This was true the first few months after they were released. I don't recall any recent shortages.

i know about the shortage back then but i remember there was a short term shortage a few months ago too and people were posting where they saw one, here and there.

Well, there was a run on them right before the changeover to leasing in March so there were probably some spot shortages in February.

not sure about actual shortages but alot of posting last summer when the 1/2 off tivo sale thing was going on at best buy and then later in summer when the rebates were going and some were getting large discounts and service credits on the hr10-250 from directv

this sounds right to me, about 3 months ago. good point about it being prior to the changeover, i mentioned this too.

As most who peruse this forum have learned, I know very little.
I certainly have no inside information. Hazarding a guess would be a wasted exercise. The way I look at it, if you want an HD Tivo, I'd buy it soon, or be condemned to waiting for the S3. There might be a point where they don't overlap, and it might be prudent to give the S3 a few months before jumping in, even though we expect Tivo to hit yet another home run.
