DTV Tivo- blank screen, no response
Hi,
I can't access ANY channels or ANY the stuff on my TiVO... All DirecTV "help" did was tell me to unplug it and replug it in... but it says "Powering up", then a DTV logo, then it continually loops back to "Powering up", etc...
I saw on another help thread to try reseating the card...i will do so.
Any other advice?? I really want to at least get some of the stuff off this TiVO before getting a new one!
thank you!~

Please Advise!!
Is this just a possible power supply problem?
it seems as it cycles between "powering Up", to,"DirecTV,just a few More minutes", over and over again, it seems to quickly lose power, then start over.
Please advise as I dont want to just get a new one as DirecTV has sent another(it will be here by Friday supposedly). I want whats on the HD of this one.
If it's under warranty(i do pay $7.99 a month for "DTV Protection Plan Advanced Product") can't I get an electronics repair place by me to look at it?

This is most likely a dead hard drive. It's stuck in a reboot loop. You won't be able to recover those recordings, unfortunately. DirecTV's Equipment Protection Plan covers the replacement of a defective receiver or DVR, but not the costs of having you send it someplace for repair.

Thanks for the response bro. Guess I should have gotten that DVD recorder like I was gonna
I spoke to someone else at DTV and she said DTV was well aware of a problem with some receivers with a "faulty internal setting", (or something like that) with regards to their hard drives...Then why the HELL are they sending them out to customers??? They have really screwed me here

DirecTV CSRs are known to day lots of screwy things. There's no "faulty internal setting". But hard drives do, unfortunately, fail. They fail in computers, and they fail in Tivos. Fortunately you have DirecTV's Equipment Protection Plan so they'll send you a replacement.

Of course. Check out the do-it-yourself resources in the Tivo Upgrade Center Forum here.
