I purchased my second HDTivo on 2/28 from Costco. I activated it on 3/30. At that time, the CSR told me:
1) He would mail me the $200 rebate form
2) My 2 year commitment would only be necessary if I file for the rebate
Well, he never sent the form. Also, after reading the form online (forum reference), I see that in order to receive $200, you have to add HD to your account (I already have HD). Does that mean I only qualify for a $100 rebate?
If that's the case, I'm not sure it's worth $100 to me to be locked into D* for two more years. I've even begun to doubt if it's worth $200 to be locked in. What's your opinion on that?
Finally, has anyone else purchased their HDTivo from Costco? Mine cost me $549 and now the price is $429. If this had happened within 30 days of purchase, I would have been able to just bring in the receipt and gotten cash back. After 30 days, you have to return the product and re-purchase it (or not) for the lower amount. In my case, the receiver and card is activated to my account. I would have to be sure that I was able to re-purchase the exact same unit again. Has anyone gone thru this?
