Car Talk Podcast?

I just recently discovered the Podcasting features of my TiVo. NPR's "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!" is a standard show I can navigate to, but I don't see NPR's "Car Talk" as an option. I figured I might be able to access the "Car Talk" podcast by entering the URL of the RSS feed, but I'm not sure what the URL might. I'm new to all of this podcasting and RSS feed stuff, so if anyone knows of the URL I can enter, or if this is even possible, I would appreciate any help.

Thanks!

It seems, from the link below, that unfortunately Car Talk is only available in Real Player format for streaming and in Audible format for podcasts, which means neither will work with TiVo.

Shame too, I listen to these guys all the time.

There are more convoluted ways to get the audio to TiVo, such as shoutcasting everything that goes through your pc's soundcard to the TiVo(including various beeps, alerts, etc.).

Oh well - perhaps NPR will support this soon. Thanks for replying!

Are audible files encrypted? Because if not you could use my TiVo Desktop AAC plug-in to play them. (it supports .m4b files)

Do you have access to Usenet forums?

Cartalk is posted in the alt.binaries.sounds.radio.misc group each week, along with many other shows. And they are in MP3 format.

Edit - Oops. Just saw you mentioned that you want to play it through your TiVo. I was thinking Podcast = iPod.

I use Audio Hijack Pro (Mac only) to automatically record the program from an internet stream of a local public radio channel, convert it to .mp3 and add it to iTunes every weekend. If you use a PC I'm sure there must be some equivalent program available.

Replay Radio

You can use replay radio to capture streams from the internet and convert them to MP3, then serve them using galleon or TTG...

I find that replay radio works fairly well for my needs. In fact, I can pull car talk off an internet radio station a 6:00 am and have it ready for play on my tivo by the time I'm ready to have coffee by 7:15. All automatic and easy to do...
