No Showcases for Canadian users?

Hey everyone,

I've read some of the past threads about Showcases but I thought I would ask the experts now that a significant number of Canadians have a TiVo purchased and activated "officially." When I first set up my TiVo I had a few showcases and some guide recommending TV shows. I found this quite helpful and nice but after a connect and and update they went away and have never come back! It's been over a month and still no Showcases. Any ideas? Do Canadians not receive them? Any info would be appreciated.

I don't know whether showcase programming is directed toward Canadian users, but if you record a significant number of programs in the late night hours you will be less likely to receive showcases, even in the US.

Hmm, my TiVo is recording almost 24/7 (with a few 30 min. breaks in between)--I have a lot of shows and movies scheduled to be recorded--but still no showcases after a month and a bit of recording like this. Any other ideas as to why I don't have any Showcases?

To my knowledge.. the only possibility of receiving showcases wold have been thru your Canadian cable operator distributing a PAX TV channel from the U.S.

TIVO stopped distributing showcases on some PAX affiliates.. maybe yours was one.. and that would mean -- no showcases for us. Previously they showed them on Discovery & A&E in the wee hours of morning. But since we in Canada get "Canadian" feeds of those networks now..

You can be sure by signing into your ONLINE SCHEDULING at TIVO.com and do a search for TELEWORLD paid programming.

I did a search for "TELEWORLD" in the online scheduler and sadly nothing in the next 14 days was found. I guess us Canadian users don't get to enjoy Showcases. Maybe once TiVo officially comes to Canada and you can walk into a BestBuy and purchase a TiVo...
