Question Find out about my commitment?

Is there any way on Directv.com to find out when my current commitment ends?

Yea, view statement. It is provided in detail on the statement, and in summary form on the left side with the programming summary.

Actualy in the programming summary it just says 1 year commitment with no date. I guess I could call retention. Just looking for the quick fix.

Click on "View Statement" the detail is there -- as long as the most recent statement is. The programming summary is just a summary that indicates the exsistance of a commtiment or not.

Not sure about commitment

I took advantage of the DVR4ME/Blowout promo and got an additional DVR. I checked the website to make sure that an annual commitment wasn't added, and the website said "No Annual Commitment".

Now there is no reference to an annual commitment on the web, or on my latest invoice. I think it was removed on Feb 28 when D* went to their rental policy. I assume I'm okay, but I'd feel better if it still said "No Annual Commitment"!

Anyone else experience this?

Yep, but as long as there is no commitment it is all the same to me. I believe the no commitment phrase only exists for one billing cycle just as a reference.

Look at previous statements, they also say the commitment ends at the end of the next month

what to do?

I'm without a commitment right now. I have 1 R10 and 1 SD receiver. I received a Phillips DSR 7000 through the DVR4ME promotion. About the same time, I purchased another R10 from a retailer. I had planned to have the DSR 7000 installed but the installer has missed 2 appointments! I've now decided to activate the DSR 7000(I already have 2 lines run to the SD receiver) as a replacement for the SD receiver.

My question is should I activate the DSR 7000 then deactivate it and then activate the new R10(using the rebate) and then I'll have the DSR 7000 as an extra, maybe even modify it?

I'm also trying to get this done without the commitment. Thanks for your suggestions.

My commitment just ended, they were going to give me 3 months of free showtime (WHOHOO, not) and I qualified to have the $99 DVR cost waived as long as I commited to 2 years and paid the $99 installation fee (again, no). I understand they want you to be commited to DTV but why must I make a 2 year commitment when I just want to add a second DVR, why must we commit when DTV wont commit to anything?
