Cool Burning HBO movie recorded on Tivo

I recorded a movie off of HBO to my Tivo hard drive. Now I want to burn it to my DVD recorder on my Toshiba Tivo. When I go to burn it the HBO movie does not show up as an option with all the other programs recorded to my Tivo.

Is there a way to burn HBO movies to the DVD??

Thanks for your help.

I do it regularly on my Pioneer 810, which has the burner in the TiVo. There are, however, some programs which will not record. Usually, I delete it and wait for another airing. So far it has always recorded the second time. For some reason the thing just "picks" some programs it won't copy. . .

Why don't you try recording something else from HBO and see what happens? Be sure to look for another airing of the program you wanted to burn and try again.

Sounds like the OP wants to burn a movie from a standalone TiVo on a DVD TiVo. If you want to burn a DVD on the DVD TiVO you need to record it on the DVD TiVo the first time. The recording formats are different on the two machine types. It's not because it's an HBO program.

I've been told that if the show's been transferred to the TiVo/DVD machine, it can't be burned to disc.

Apparently even if you have two TiVo/DVD machines, and transfer a show from one to the other (for whatever reason), it won't burn on the second machine.

You have to burn it on the machine it was recorded on.

Or "transfer" it by rerecording it through the analog inputs.

Could you perhaps point me to some more technical stuff about file formats, etc? I'm used to burning DVD's with various tools; .tivo files are new to me. THANKS
