DVD door closed/open

Put in a DVD to watch this weekend and pushed the button to close the door. It closed but Humax still said door was open. Pushed remote again and it still says it is open but it is not. How can I actually open the door the remove the DVD and start over? Any thoughts?

I dont have the Humax but most cd/dvd players have a release .... Look for a little pinhole that you can put a paperclip through and it should initiate the opening of the DVD tray.

I would suggest once you get the dvd out you restart/reboot the unit if it does not go back to its proper setting.

I have this happen semi often, aka about 1x a month with my Humax DRT800.

I have rectified the situation by either:

1) gently prying the dvd door out from the sides until it opens itself...

or

2) unplugging the system and then powering it back up. It then releases the door.

Sometimes it does this when I put a disc in, sometimes just when closing the door regardless of whether sa disc is in or not.

THe little hole that usually releases discs on a computer isnt visable that I can tell nor accessable without opening the unit.

This has happened to me once. I unplugged the unit and rebooted and it opened up. My guess as to why was that the disc may have not been seated properly and futzed up the sensor.

I thought that too, disc being seated incorrectly, but Ive had it happen with no disc in the tray as well. Not sure if its a issue with the dvd drive itself or what.

Not a huge deal as long as it corrects. But annoying.

Thanks, everyone. I did find the pinhole but it didn't accomplish anything. I'll unplug tonight and see if that helps.
