Series 2 freeze/stutter

Using series 2 with Brighthouse digital cable box.

Every so often in a 60 minute show, the video from the tivo freezes for half or one second about 6 times. No time frame it is random.

We are not recording when this happens, but it is recording the last 30 minutes anyways.

I have tried to reset and clear the tivo, and that made no diff.
Anyone else experiencing this lag or freeze frame problem.

Sounds like your hard drive is dying.

The avatar picture is supposed to be a picture of you. Just thought I'd mention this to your before one of the moderators has a fit and makes you remove what you have now as an avatar picture.

Sounds like your hard drive is gonna go soon. Your symptoms are exactly what I experienced on my Series I unit before its hard drive went.

My suggestion is to start transferring any saved shows to VHS or DVD immediately while the hard drive is still working, and to start shopping around for a replacement drive. Weaknees, 9th tee, ptv, digital recorder, and many others sell replacement kits. If you are really good with computers, you can buy your own drive and try to obtain a drive image of your unit from many sources, and to image the drive yourself.

The avatar is a Phoenix bird, as the website and group I am associated with is Phoenix Connexion We are a gaming website for Counter Strike FPS games. That is our website logo. If it is offending, I can remove it.

It isn't offending, but forum rules require that any avatars be a picture of you and nothing else.
